When a domestic water pipe breaks under a concrete foundation, water can wash away sub-base soil and damage finished flooring. We locate under-slab leaks so that access can be made with precision rather than blind jackhammering across rooms.
Under-slab lines are encased in concrete, but they produce noticeable symptoms.
If a hot domestic supply line develops a break under the slab, heat transfers through the concrete, creating a distinctly warm patch on tile or wood floors.
Pressurized water escaping under concrete generates continuous acoustic vibration that can often be heard through baseboards or near the water heater.
If the low-flow dial on your water meter turns while all household faucets, toilets, and appliances are shut off, pressurized water is escaping.
We investigate pressurized hot and cold domestic water supply pipes routed beneath concrete foundation slabs. We isolate lines, perform pressure testing, and listen for acoustic sound patterns across the floor surface.
Locating pipes beneath several inches of concrete slab is subject to physical limitations. Post-tension cables, radiant floor heating elements, dense sub-base fill, or low water pressure can complicate sound and heat transmission. Detection narrows down the location to avoid trenching entire rooms, but opening the slab is still required to perform the physical pipe repair.
Please note: We provide diagnostic locating services only. We do not jackhammer concrete, cut pipes, perform spot repairs, or execute overhead repiping. We do not provide plumbing repair estimates. Once our diagnostic markings are placed on the slab surface, you must engage a licensed plumbing repair contractor to open the concrete and repair the pipe.
Diagnostic fees for slab leak locating are determined by foundation area, complexity of the plumbing layout, and travel distance in New Jersey. Pricing is discussed directly during scheduling.
